A sustainable legacy

A sustainable legacy

Founded in 1906, Casa Batlló is an early example of sustainability that anticipates key principles in modern architecture. Its innovative design uses recyclable and locally sourced materials, incorporates rainwater collection systems, and maximizes energy efficiency by harnessing natural light and ventilation.

These solutions reflect Gaudí’s respect for the environment, a sustainable legacy that we continue to promote at Casa Batlló through the implementation of environmental, social, and economic measures. As a result of these initiatives, since 2019, we have held the Biosphere certification, recognizing our good practices aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
