Casa Batlló exhibits technological experiences of 4 Korean start-ups

Startups from Seoul are using spaces such as Casa Batlló and L'illa Diagonal to showcase their proposals.

From today until the end of April, Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Batlló and the L’Illa Diagonal Shopping Center are hosting seven Korean startups specializing in innovative technologies, which will demonstrate their different technologies integrated into these two spaces, with the aim of gaining the awareness and references from Barcelona, as a starting point for their European expansion. At Casa Batlló, experiences surprise the visitor at different moments. These include the following companies and proposals:

Razen: On the outside of Casa Batlló, a touch screen adapted for wheelchair users provides information about the visit in 3 languages.

Gaudio Lab: An immersive audio that visitors can download using a QR code explains the façade of Casa Batlló in 5 languages.

Mopic: During the visit 3 screens project details of the façade in 3D.

Dtonic: Different electronic labels are available in the Casa Batlló shop to save time, reduce paper and protect the planet.

Barcelona, innovation springboard for Europe

This project has been carried out by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and the Seoul Business Agency (SBA); two organizations who support and promote the startups of Seoul (South Korea). Once this project is finished, both entities plan to expand these technologies throughout Europe, including Spain. This is the second edition after the success obtained in June last year with the Glòries shopping center in Barcelona, where five startups participated, supported by the company OASTA Consulting. On this second edition, the seven Korean startups have arrived: four installed in Casa Batlló (Dtonic, Gaudio Lab, Mopic and Razen) and another 3 in L’Illa Diagonal (12CM, Ehan Creative and WE-AR).

Spokespersons of Casa Batlló and L’Illa have agreed to highlight that the seven Korean startups have analyzed their marketing interests and the respective characteristics of their spaces, to adapt their technologies and thus collaborate with their different objectives of improving their communication with visitors to carry it out in a more effective and respectful way with the environment and to offer entertainment in their facilities and in their social network profiles, where they also hope to achieve more engagement with users.

Dong-ho Sung, head of the startups division of the SBA, explained: “I think the Proof of Concept project is a great opportunity to effectively showcase the excellent technologies that Korean startups possess in the global market. Starting from Barcelona, we will spare no effort to promote the development of new companies, so that they will soon become known in Europe”.
