Simbòlic expands beyond Casa Batlló for the first time with a pop-up at La Roca Village
Design, craftsmanship and contemporary collaborations bring the universe of Gaudí to a new space within ‘A Door to Barcelona’, as part of the 2026 Gaudí Year and the Year of Architecture.

For the first time, Simbòlic is leaving Casa Batlló. The building’s concept store is coming to La Roca Village with a pop-up bringing together a selection of objects, collections and collaborations inspired by the architecture, materials, colours and stories of Casa Batlló.
The initiative forms part of A Door to Barcelona, the cultural project promoted by La Roca Village together with Casa Batlló and La Pedrera to bring Gaudí’s legacy and the city’s heritage to new audiences through contemporary creation.
After exploring this legacy through art, photography and nature, with interventions by Flowers by Bornay and Jordi Bernadó, the arrival of Simbòlic now adds design and craftsmanship as new ways of reinterpreting and sharing the universe of Gaudí.
A design laboratory inspired by Casa Batlló
More than a museum shop, Simbòlic is an extension of the Casa Batlló story and of a way of understanding creation that is deeply connected to Gaudí himself.
The architect conceived Casa Batlló as an integrated work of art and worked closely with master craftspeople from different fields to develop the ceramics, glass, ironwork, wood and other elements that are an inseparable part of its architecture.
Following this same spirit of collaboration across disciplines, Simbòlic operates as a design laboratory connected to Casa Batlló. Its team develops collections based on research into the building’s spaces, forms, materials, colours and stories, while collaborating with craftspeople, designers, artists and contemporary brands to reinterpret them as new objects.
These collaborations include Hello Kitty, MAM, Munich, Natura Bissé, Etnia Barcelona, Moleskine, Mietis, Chupa Chups and Chocolat Factory, as well as artisans specialising in ceramics, glass and mosaic.
The result is a collection of everyday objects that offers a different way to discover, remember and take a part of Casa Batlló home: from handcrafted ceramic pieces and locally produced jewellery to children’s games, stationery and design objects inspired by Gaudí’s architecture and Barcelona’s creative imagination.
“Simbòlic allows us to continue explaining Casa Batlló through other languages. Gaudí understood architecture, craftsmanship and design as parts of a single work, and we want to keep that spirit alive by collaborating with contemporary creators and translating it into objects that can accompany people beyond their visit,” says Marina Porté, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Simbòlic.
Casa Batlló beyond Casa Batlló
The pop-up is presented under the creative concept Cabinet of Curiosities, inspired by historic cabinets of curiosities: spaces where unique objects, discoveries and small pieces came together to tell stories.
Simbòlic’s kiosk at La Roca Village follows this approach. Each object refers to a shape, material, colour or story connected to the building and to Gaudí.
The arrival of Simbòlic thus expands the programme of A Door to Barcelona, transforming La Roca Village into a space from which to rediscover Barcelona and Gaudí’s work through different contemporary languages.
The floral installations by Flowers by Bornay reinterpret elements such as Casa Batlló’s ceramic roof and La Pedrera’s wrought-iron doors through thousands of flowers arranged by hand. Meanwhile, Jordi Bernadó’s photographic series, created in twenty-four Barcelona homes, offers an intimate, lived-in perspective on the city’s architecture and urban life.
With the arrival of Simbòlic, design and craftsmanship join art and photography as ways of keeping Gaudí’s legacy alive and reinterpreting it, strengthening the collaboration between La Roca Village, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera in a particularly significant year for architecture and Barcelona’s heritage.
From the object to Casa Batlló
To celebrate the opening and reinforce the connection between the object and the building that inspires it, Saturday 3 October, opening at 10am, the first 100 people to make a purchase of at least €20 at the pop-up will receive a double ticket to visit Casa Batlló.
The initiative invites visitors to complete the journey in reverse: first discovering a small part of the Casa Batlló universe through Simbòlic and then visiting the building, its architecture and Antoni Gaudí’s legacy.
