The Snapchat account of @casabatllo gets transformed with Reinhard de Jonghe’s creativity

Reinhard De Jonghe (Belgium, 1984) is an artist known by his snaps, so to say the creative messages he shares at his Snapchat account “reinhard19”. Any moment of his daily life is a valid one to be transformed and to become an art work. Last March 15th we had the opportunity to welcome him at Casa Batlló and to enjoy his creative snaps. We took advantage of his visit and interviewed him to discover why was he using this social media platform in such a original way.

Reinhard started to paint with Snapchat profile one year ago. “I have always been super creative, but carrying a scrapbook always with me was not comfortable, and with the Snapchat arrival I found the solution to my problem”, says this artist that uses this social media channel as his canvas. Seeing dragons, animals or bringing things to life is his specialty, and it is due to his really imaginative mind.

Reinhard always carries his smartphone with him and, in order to draw, he uses a digital pen to be able to do more precise lines. “Snapchat gave me a lot of comfort when it comes to drawing. The rest of social media can’t offer me the same yet”, explains the artist that usually shares afterwards his most liked works at his Instagram profile (@Reinharddejonghe) and at his Facebook account, too.

Reinhard is a painter and he often offers seminars and talks at his country of origin, Belgium. Further than this, the artist confessed that he lives life with imagination and that being able to draw all the things he sees clearly at his mind is what he likes the most of his profession.
