Mishima, La Casa Azul and Silvia Pérez Cruz play an acoustic show in Casa Batlló

Last Wednesday, the Dragon Roof Terrace at Casa Batlló hosted a much awaited event of the SOFAR concert network (Songs From A Room). This concert took place at the same time as 300 other concerts in 60 countries featuring over 1000 artists. All of the concerts shared a common goal: to raise money for refugees. In the case of Barcelona, “Give a Home” managed to raise more than € 5,000, which will be managed by Amnesty International.

100 live music lovers attended this intimate soiree, a typical Sofar format. However, the evening concert on Wednesday in Barcelona was not held in a room or patio of a house, but rather on one of the most beautiful roof terraces in the world, created by Antoni Gaudí en Casa Batlló.

The concert featured performances by three great artists: the group Mishima kicked off the night with a selection of songs from their repertoire inspired by the refugee crisis, as well as some tunes from their latest album ‘Ara i res’.

The Barcelona-based quintet was followed by La Casa Azul, with Guille Milkyway on keys, who surprised everyone by revealing the meanings behind some of his songs. Milkyway performed some of his biggest hits and ended by getting the audience to join in the singing.

The grand finale was Pérez Cruz who, together with dancer Rocío Molina, a violinist and a cellist, gave everyone goosebumps, especially during her performance of “No hay tanto pan”, in which sang and played the guitar, while the audience hummed along.

During the concert, there were also constant reminders of the current political situation in Catalonia, with the sound of nearby helicopters and the statements of certain artists. However, the concert, which had been programmed months in advance for that day, unfolded in a normal and respectful manner, and, above all, gave the audience a few hours of unforgettable music in one of the most emblematic roof terraces in Barcelona.

We encourage you to check out other tickets to come and enjoy the Dragon Roof Terrace.
