Casa Batlló’s street escape “Gaudí and the Hidden Treasure” wins TripAdvisor’s 2026 Travellers’ Choice

Casa Batlló celebrates a new international recognition: the Street Escape Gaudí and the Hidden Treasure has been awarded the Travellers’ Choice 2026, a distinction that highlights the excellent reception of this experience among visitors.

The game offers a unique way to discover Barcelona: an outdoor escape room that invites you to explore the modernist Eixample district by following clues hidden in the city’s architecture. Through riddles, maps, special tools, and a box, participants must solve a mystery and find the Batlló family treasure.

The adventure begins and ends at the Casa Batlló ticket office, featuring a 2.7 km route through some of the city’s most iconic modernist buildings, such as Casa Milà, Casa Fuster, and Casa de les Punxes. For approximately two hours, families, couples, groups of friends, schools, and companies can enjoy a fun, cultural, and interactive experience designed to see Barcelona through a fresh lens.

The story stems from a legend linked to Casa Batlló itself: when Josep Batlló and Amalia Godó passed away, the house was sold with a strange clause stating that if a treasure were ever found in the building, it had to be returned to the family. But that treasure never appeared…

With this as a starting point, Gaudí and the Hidden Treasure transforms the city into a game board and modernist architecture into a map full of secrets. An exclusive official experience from Casa Batlló, designed by Mystery City Games BV, it combines entertainment, heritage, and urban discovery.

The 2026 Travellers’ Choice award confirms the public’s connection to an experience that expands the way Gaudí’s legacy is lived beyond the monument, inviting visitors to explore Barcelona, solve riddles, and share a group adventure.
