Casa Batlló wins the Alimara prize for innovation in experience
CETT-UB awards the prize to Casa Batlló for the #MésQueUnaRosa campaign
On 20th April we at CET/UBB, which hosted the Noche de los Alimara, attended the International Tourism, Hotel Trade and Gastronomy Campus. Casa Batlló was a finalist in the Premios Alimara Turismo 360, an award now in its 33rd year.
More than 500 people, including authorities and other elected bodies, all of them linked to tourism, the hotel trade or gastronomy, attended the ceremony. Apart from being one of the most important schools at national level, the CETT-UB also does different things throughout the year to promote tourism at national and international level.
We were nominated by Casa Batlló in the prize category for innovation in product or experience by the #MésQueUnaRosa of Sant Jordi 2016 campaign. Casa Batlló has a close link with legend of Sant Jordi,as elements of the legend can be found both in the façade and in the interior: the dragon on the roof, the cross of Sant Jordi that represents the knight’s lance and crosses the dragon’s leg, the princess’s balcony, balconies in the form of a skull and the façade which symbolise victims’ bones, and, lastly, at the foot of the stairs we find the wood worked as if it were the spines of a large animal, the dragon. Therefore, because the façade has big pink roses as a theme and because it is a tourist icon of the city of Barcelona we have earned the Alimara prize for innovation in experience!.
From Casa Batlló we want to thank you for being part of this competition and we congratulate the other award winners too!
