Casa Batlló supports Wiki Loves Monuments 2016
Antoni Gaudí's modernist gem is taking part by awarding a Special Prize for this contest, organised by Wikimedia
The Wiki Loves Monuments photo contest will take place from the 1st until the 30th of September. The contest was first held in the Netherlands in 2011 and, year after year, it has spread to ever more countries and has gathered more and more participants, making it into the Guiness Book of World Records as the largest contest in the world, comprising more than 1,200,000 images.
The central concept of the contest is cultural heritage and for the first time this year, the contest, co-organised by Amical Wikipedia, will award both photographs and articles on catalogued monuments that have not yet been written about. In the contest, entries will be evaluated using a points system for each photograph of a new monument, new article or extension to an article. Taking part is very easy; you just need a Wikipedia account. Sign up to the participants page and start earning points by editing the Casa Batlló article or by creating the article in new languages. The person who earns the most points will win the Special Casa Batlló Prize which includes a double ticket to visit Casa Batlló and a deluxe edition of a book on this fantastic masterpiece by Antoni Gaudí.
We encourage you to take part and to create and expand the information on Casa Batlló on Wikipedia in different languages.
