This year is proving to be a truly special one for Barcelona. The centenary of Antoni Gaudí’s death, the completion of the Tower of Jesus Christ at the Sagrada Família, and the city’s designation as the UNESCO World Capital of Architecture make 2026 a unique opportunity to celebrate the architect’s legacy from fresh perspectives. Against this backdrop, A Gateway to Barcelona has been launched, a new artistic project promoted by La Roca Village in collaboration with Casa Batlló and La Pedrera to bring the city’s cultural heritage closer to new audiences.
The initiative transforms La Roca Village into an artistic journey inspired by Barcelona and Gaudí’s work through the vision of two contemporary Catalan creators: Flowers by Bornay, the studio behind the floral installations, and photographer Jordi Bernadó, whose series of photographs reveals the city through the intimacy of its homes.
Nature as Gaudí’s language
One of the project’s highlights is the series of large-scale floral installations created by Flowers by Bornay. Their sculptures reinterpret some of Gaudí’s most iconic forms, including the wrought-iron gates of La Pedrera and the ceramic roof of Casa Batlló, using thousands of flowers placed by hand, one by one. The result is a contemporary interpretation of nature as a source of architectural inspiration—one of the fundamental principles of Gaudí’s work.
A Barcelona discovered from within
The project also features a photographic series by Jordi Bernadó portraying twenty-four Barcelona homes, revealing an intimate, diverse, and creative city. Among them is the home of La Pedrera’s last resident, offering a perspective that invites visitors to discover Gaudí’s architecture as a living, inhabited space rather than simply a monument.

The experience extends beyond the artistic installations. La Roca Village, Casa Batlló, and La Pedrera have joined forces to create proposals that connect some of Barcelona’s most iconic landmarks through a shared commitment to celebrating the city’s architectural heritage, creativity, and culture. This collaboration reinforces a common vision of bringing Gaudí’s legacy closer to visitors from around the world through a contemporary and immersive approach.
