Casa Batllo celebrates World Autism Awareness Day by dyeing itself in blue!
The nights of 1st and 2nd April the facade of Casa Batllo will be iluminated in blue adding to the movement "light it up blue"
Autism is a disorder that is still very unknown on all levels and there are still many myths and clichés that weigh on people with autism and are real barriers for their full social inclusion. For this reason, the United Nations, since 2008, declared April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day.
Due to this, Casa Batllo adds to more than 30 buildings and monuments in Barcelona, and many more in the rest of the world, which will lit up in blue nights 1st and 2nd April, from 21h to 24h. To celebrate World Autism Awareness Day under the slogan “Ligh it up blue”.
In addition, on Sunday 3rd April there will be charitable activities related to the disorder in 14 points of the city of Barcelona between 10h and 13h. If you want to know more about this initiative have a look at: www.conectatalblau.org
This initiative comes a year to Barcelona in hand with Aprenem Association who oversee the social inclusion of people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
