UNESCO World Heritage Site
Casa Batlló has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. In the same year, several other buildings designed by Gaudí were declared World Heritage Sites, including the Nativity Facade and the Crypt of the Sagrada Familia, Casa Vicens and the Güell Complex. These works were added to those which had already been awarded World Heritage status in 1984: Park Güell, the Güell Palace and Casa Milá (La Pedrera).
Together these represent the exceptional contribution of Gaudí’s creations to the evolution of architecture and construction techniques towards the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
