The first floor, structural repairs, floors and ceilings. The lift. The main facade
The first floor was completely overhauled. Structural reinforcements were put in place and the floor of the first storey was shored up, along with the ceiling of the Noble Floor directly below.
On this floor, melis pine beams were found, some of which were suffering from damp or were rotting. In addition to strengthening these elements, this storey was made suitable for a greater level of use than it had previously known, in preparation for the decades to come. Pillars and main walls were reinforced.
Some vital stitching was carried out on the main facade, as it had some intricate details which were in danger of falling off.
