NOBLE FLOOR, ATTIC AND "DRAGON'S BELLY" ROOMS
DESCRIPTION

A UNIQUE MODERNIST EXPERIENCE

The Noble Floor

Located on the main floor with stunning direct access, this is the jewel in the crown of the building, and it unites every aspect of Gaudí’s design in a feast of unique and inimitable architectural and decorative impressions, in some of the most brilliant modernist works of art and craftsmanship as they were originally expressed. As if that were not enough, the Noble Floor includes a magnificent modernist courtyard, a truly exceptional 230 m˛ open-air space which is absolutely perfect for your events and celebrations.
The Noble Floor (which has a total surface area of 730 m˛), connects with the Coach Houses and Coal Cellars, as well as with the Jujol room, by internal staircases.

The Noble Floor has two large rooms, one overlooking Passeig de Grŕcia and the other facing the inner courtyard of the building, and it also has its own spacious modernist outdoor courtyard.

The attic and the Dragon's Belly

Hiring the Noble Floor also allows you to have use of the attic and the Roof Terrace at the top of the building.

The attic and the exceptional Roof Terrace, together with their unique views over the city, provide the most original, evocative and characteristic setting of all of Gaudí’s works.

They express a journey to a new and unusual space which is full of surprises and emotions. This is a place where nature is present in a very innovative way, where air, fire, water and earth are the main protagonists of a game in which imagination knows no bounds.

In every nook and cranny of this completely new suite, you will discover surprising elements which will captivate your senses: the impression of a tranquil sea depicted on the walls of the light well; the magnificent vaults resembling a thoracic cavity; the mysterious chimneys; and the famous three-dimensional cross which crowns the building.

Casa Batlló offers two rooms in the attic for your functions: the first is the “Dragon’s Belly”, the pinnacle of the building which immerses us in a space which Gaudí designed using his masterful solution, the catenary arch.

The second is the “Fire Room”, a contemporary area bearing the hallmark of the lighting specialist Ingo Maurer, and it contains many ingenious solutions in lighting and visual displays.

The rest of the suite is a series of charming and fairytale-like areas which will delight guests, and which portray the nostalgia of a space which evokes a way of life belonging to Modernist Barcelona. These areas will captivate children and adults alike.
The Roof Terrace, with its chimneys which are lit up at night, is a 400 m˛ flat roof terrace overlooking Barcelona which allows guests to enjoy a beautiful Mediterranean outdoor space as well as Barcelona’s excellent weather. It is the perfect spot for parties and gatherings.

The attic was originally designed as a service area, and was once home to storage and laundry rooms. Even so, this area displays a dazzling Mediterranean beauty and an impressive elegance of form. The attic areas are characterised by one of Gaudí’s key architectural resources, the catenary arch, which here span airy and sweeping spaces.

To give one example, you could enjoy an aperitif in the attic and on the Roof Terrace, with magnificent views of the night sky and the neighbouring rooftops, before moving through to dinner in the Noble Floor. Depending on the needs of the company hosting the event, we will be delighted to provide other suggestions.
